Big Thief: ‘Shark Smile’

Big Thief's debut LP "Masterpiece" gained the Brooklyn band a wide, adoring audience. NPR listeners voted the quartet their favorite new act of 2016 for its sharp lyrics and songwriting.

Just a year later Big Thief is back with its sophomore album "Capacity," out Friday. Singer and guitarist Adrianne Lenker wrote the single "Shark Smile" about a car accident that claims the life of the narrator's lover. It's a heartbreaking, folk-inspired ode that showcases Lenker's lyrical prowess and memorable voice.
