UCHealth Opens Drive-Up Testing Site For Suspected COVID-19 Cases In Colorado Springs

UCHealth is opening a regional drive-up testing site for suspected COVID-19 cases in Colorado Springs. The location east of Memorial Park will be open weekdays to those with a referral from a provider. It is not open to the general public.

As of Friday morning, the state has reported 72 presumptive positive cases of the new coronavirus, including two in El Paso County and one in Pueblo County.

On Friday, Governor Jared Polis banned gatherings of 250 or more people unless a safe distance can be ensured and announced measures to increase healthcare staffing.

That includes expediting the licensing of those already licensed in other states, utilizing Colorado National Guard medics as well as medical students, and asking doctors and nurses who have retired or left the field to consider returning.
