Last weekend, the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche got off to bang with wins to open their respective playoff series.

But, if you’re a soccer fan, it was also a huge weekend. Colorado’s Lindsey Heaps and Sophia Wilson starred in the U.S. Women’s Soccer team’s win over Japan — while the Colorado Rapids hosted Lionel Messi to celebrate 30 years in Major League Soccer in front of a record crowd. And just a few weeks ago, the newly formed Denver Summit FC women's soccer team played for the first time in the city to its own record crowd.

CPR's Tony Gorman has been following the ins and outs of soccer's moment in the Mile High City. You can listen to his story by clicking the player above.
