Can parents, on behalf of their children, opt-out of school English classes that read books about same-sex marriage, LGBTQ+ issues, or similar topics, on the grounds that having their children read such books violates their “Free Exercise of Religion” rights to control their children’s religious up-bringing? In Mahmoud v. Taylor, the Supreme Court says “Yes”.
Eric Hall: JD at Notre Dame. He represents religious institutions and schools in all legal matters with an emphasis on First Amendment Litigation.
Judge Richard Hall: JD in Law from the University of California at Berkeley. He was a Judge for forty-six years in the municipal, county, and district courts.
