Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District Annual Meeting

After a welcome and short business meeting, attendees will enjoy hearing and meeting the authors PJ Anderson and Patrick Anderson. The Friends awarded the 2025 Golden Quill Award for the Andersons’ excellent work, Cheyenne Mountain--Here’s Looking at You.

Longtime residents of the region, the father-son duo’s book is an exhaustive study of the geology, settlement, and history of the mountain. These outdoorsmen tramped all the trails and even some places that were not yet paths as they retell of the many homesteads and features of the second-most recognized mountain in the Front Range. Attendees may be treated to tales of their hikes as well as the plane crashes, fires, and transformations in the mountain’s history. The mountain is not just home to NORAD, but it also has hundreds of homes now on its lap as well as the recognized cowlick of antennae atop.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase, and the authors will sign copies after the meeting. The event is open to the public.
