The Race to Find the Source of The Nile
When
Event Description
Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and Europeans had searched for the source of the Nile River for the past two thousand years. Among the barriers to their success were the varied and rugged terrain, the climate, diseases, hostile nations, and primitive means of transportation. Compounding those problems was the fact that there are two Nile Rivers, the White and the Blue. Who finally succeeded in this quest and how did he surmount these challenges?
Julia Hargrove: MA in American History from the University of Texas at Austin; BA with a double major in History and English from WSC (now WSCU) in Gunnison, Colorado.
