Colorado Primary Sorting Ballots Adams County
Hart Van Denburg/CPR News
Election workers sort and manage ballots at the Adams County Government Center in Brighton on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

We're just under two months away from the election. The contest between Cory Gardner and John Hickenlooper could help determine which party controls the Senate. The wide-open spaces of western and southern Colorado are the scene of a wide-open House race in the 3rd Congressional District. And voters of all stripes are looking to the future with optimism and concern.

From now through the election, our Purplish team — Bente Birkeland, Caitlyn Kim and Andrew Kenney — will bring you weekly analysis of what's happening in the races, as well as what they're hearing from voters around the state. In this episode, what they've heard includes fears of civil unrest and pleas for a return to normalcy... whatever that means.

Also, if you're a Colorado voter, don't just listen to CPR's election coverage — contribute to it. Tell us what matters to you in this election, and help guide our coverage. Thank you.
