De'von Bailey Police Shooting Colorado Springs
Hart Van Denburg/CPR News
A memorial has grown on Preuss Road in southeast Colorado Springs where city police shot De’Von Bailey on Aug. 3. He later died.

De'Von Bailey was buried Friday. The 19-year-old African-American was shot and killed by police in Colorado Springs earlier this month. Bailey was a suspect in an attempted armed robbery, and although police did find a gun on him as he lay dying, body cam footage shows he was running away from officers when he was shot. We're waiting now to learn if the District Attorney will file charges against the officers involved. Let's get a unique perspective on the story from the leader of a civil rights group in the Springs who's also former law enforcement. Henry Allen leads the Pikes Peak chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and he's a former El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy.
