It's the letters that Walker Stapleton will cherish most.
George H.W. Bush, whom Stapleton called "Uncle George," started writing letters to his younger cousin the day after Stapleton was born.
President Bush died last week at age 94. He will be laid to rest on Thursday in Texas in a private service after a public funeral at the National Cathedral on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
Stapleton talked to Colorado Matters about the 41st president's legacy.
Our Country has lost a hero and I have lost my North Star. Some of my earliest memories include fishing with him while sharing 44 years of love and laughs. His selfless kindness towards others regardless of background or circumstance was unequaled. pic.twitter.com/hsS38SaE0K
