The city of Longmont is bracing for a big economic hit. The Butterball turkey plant -- a mainstay there since 1950 -- will close its doors in a few days. Three-hundred-and-fifty people will lose their jobs -- one of the single biggest layoffs in Colorado since the recession hit. The closure will also leave nearly 27 acres in downtown empty.
