Music from Denver’s Ebbets Field

Tom Waits, Little Feat, and Joan Armatrading: just a few of the names that played in Denver in the 1970s at a tiny nightclub called Ebbets Field. It was also the kind of place two pot-smoking comedians of the era would stop by.

We’re Cheech and Chong and we’re only allowed to introduce the act cause we’d swear and probably [beep] and say something wrong.


On this night, June 12 1975, they introduce the band The Beau Brummels. Steve Weiner was there that night. He recorded the performance, and includes it on a new collection he helped put together called “Live at Ebbets Field volume 4.” Weiner speaks with Ryan Warner.
