Harvey Carter, of Colorado Springs, was a climbing legend. He led thousands of first ascents, routes no one else had climbed before. As part of his passion for the sport, Carter also started Climbing magazine in 1970. Carter also loved to ski, and and spent years on the patrol at Aspen Mountain. He died of prostate cancer last month at age 81, leaving behind a wife and two adult children. Zachary Barr talks with Carter's friend Stewart Green, author of Rock Climbing Colorado.
A memorial service for Harvey Carter is planned for 2pm on Friday, April 20th at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post.
