Cathie Beck was a teen mom and a single mom, too. When her kids left home, she still felt young and wild. But she didn’t have friends to be young and wild with. So she put an ad in The Boulder Daily Camera. The phone rang right away. Eventually, Beck invited 8 women into her home. Among them was a brash New York transplant named Denise. Their intense friendship inspired Beck’s memoir. It’s called “Cheap Cabernet.” The story of how it got published is pretty intense, too, as she tells Ryan Warner.
