"Why I Stayed" is Gayle Haggard's book... about her decision to forgive and stay married to disgraced pastor Ted Haggard. The couple had to leave the church they'd built together in Colorado Springs after he admitted to having sex with a male prostitute in Denver... and buying and using meth. The Haggards started New Life Church in the basement of their home with just 30 people... and grew it to a congregation of 14,000. In the book, Gayle Haggard writes about the effect of the scandal on her, her 5 children, and her marriage. She spoke to Ryan Warner in February from Colorado Springs.
