In the U.S., refined sugar primarily comes from two crops - sugar beets and sugar cane. The domestic sugar beet industry brings in billions of dollars every year to the U.S. economy and is a vital part of Colorado agriculture. But how sugar beets are grown in one part of Colorado is currently in debate. KRCC's Ellen Mahoney reports on the issue currently facing Boulder County commissioners.
