Vincent Harding
One in four delegates at this year's Democratic convention was African-American. So was the candidate. But just over 40 years ago, there was a brutal fight within the Democratic Party over whether to seat any black delegates for one southern state. Vincent Harding, of Denver, is professor emeritus at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver. And he was an adviser to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
