Governor Bill Ritter appointed the first Latina and openly gay member to the Colorado Supreme Court yesterday. Monica Marquez is a native of Grand Junction and graduated from Stanford University and Yale Law School. Ritter praised her keen intellect. Bente Birkeland has more from the state capitol.
