The Duckett Fire in Custer and Fremont Counties has now burned nearly 2500 acres. No structures have been lost and no injuries have been reported, but residents of the Brush Creek Estates Subdivision are added to the list of evacuations. Mandatory evacuations are also in effect for Eagle Peak Subdivision, Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp, County Road 192, and other scattered structures. The fire is about 5% contained and the cause is still under investigation. Crews were able to hold the fire overnight, but the south fire perimeter continues to be a concern.

Meanwhile, in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico, the Track Fire has burned about half of the forested acres at Sugarite Canyon State Park. Officials say crews have been making progress on the blaze that's burned more than 25,000 acres. It remains at 5% containment. Two Air Force C-130s from the California National Guard have arrived at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, though it’s unclear which fires they will concentrate on fighting. The American Red Cross has set up an evacuation center at the Raton Convention Center for residents affected by the Track Fire. Interstate 25 remains closed between Trinidad and Raton. Health officials in both states are warning residents that smoke from the Track Fire will move into areas of southern Colorado. Residents with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should be cautious in affected areas.

And, Colorado state government websites were down for about 2 1/2 hours today after state agencies temporarily lost their connection to the Internet. Officials are still working on figuring out what happened.
