State regulators unanimously approved a new rule today requiring oil and gas companies to publicly disclose the chemicals and fluids used in hydraulic fracturing. The oil and gas industry and the environmental community came together and brokered a compromise so all sides now support the rule...and, state auditors say 10 Colorado agencies could lose nearly $94 million in federal stimulus funds if they don’t use the money before the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds expire in September 2012.
