A training plane crash involving two crewmembers at the Air Force Academy last night is now under investigation. KRCC’s Katherine-Claire O’Connor reports.

The small T-53 Kadet 2 crashed during a landing approach at the Academy airfield. The aircraft and a hanger were damaged, but neither person on board was injured. Officials aren’t releasing any information on them. Spokeswoman for the Air Force Bekah Clark says the interim Safety Board has begun an investigation.

"They’re interviewing folks, they’re taking initial control of the scene. And then beyond that further interviews will be taken, they’ll look at the actual evidence from the scene and kind of figure out and piece together what happened."

The Air Education and Training Command plans to take over the investigation. An official conclusion is expected in 30 days.
