Weather Prompts Road Closures in CO’s Eastern Plains

Crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation remain on full snow shift across the state, and are expected to remain on hand through tomorrow morning. As of early afternoon, CDOT says Eastern Colorado is the trouble spot, with a number of closures:

I-70 is closed between Airpark Boulevard and Kansas
US 24 is closed between Limon and Colorado Springs
SH 94 is closed between Enoch and Punkin Center
US 40/US 287 is closed between Limon and Kit Carson
SH 59 is closed between Seibert and Kit Carson

CDOT says I-25 from the north to the south has mostly wet and slushy roads with some icy spots and possible snow pack; along I-70, drivers should still expect to see snow pack and icy conditions.

CDOT urges travelers to check Cotrip.org, or call 511 for more information on road conditions and closures.
