Culture Gaps: Does race have a seat in your classroom?

· Oct. 3, 2013, 11:47 am

We're looking into Colorado's acheivement gaps between white students and black and Latino students as part of our Losing Ground series. One possible factor is that most minority students rarely or never have a minority teacher.

We want your help as we explore this. Share your experiences and observations, especially if you're a teacher. For instance, how does race and ethnicity -- yours and your students -- affect what goes on in your classroom? How do you bridge the gap?

Parents and students, we want to hear from you, too!
