Spine-tingling spots in Denver that are perfect for ‘American Horror Story’

With its lurid and unusual public art works, Denver International Airport is just one of Denver's scariest spots.

One of the storytelling strengths of the FX series is its use of location to set a theme and mood for each season. Whether it was Murder House in L.A., Briarcliff in New England or the home of a witches’ coven in New Orleans, these locations added rich cultural folklore and dark histories that have helped to differentiate one season from another.

There are sites scattered throughout Colorado, however, that would serve as the perfect backdrop for any future season of "American Horror Story" that don't include the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.

In an effort to help potential FX location scouts figure out where to set scenes for a Denver-based season of the series, here’s a guide to some of the Metro area’s most spine-tingling spots.
