A major road near Evergreen is closed indefinitely. Officials say Highway 74 is shut down between Highway 73 and Upper Bear Creek Road. Workers were grading a path for a trail at Evergreen Lake dam when the soil near the road began to give way. The road closure will be in place until a 30-foot stretch of soil is stabilized.
