UPDATE: Vollmer has reopened. Tapadero and Green Mountain Rds. remain closed.
El Paso County officials have closed several roads:
- Vollmer Road between Shoup and Burgess in the Black Forest area. Traffic there is being detoured onto Herring Road and Burgess. A water main break has opened a sink hole, forcing the closure.
- Also, a 48-inch culvert has washed out, forcing the closure of Tapadero and Green Mountain Roads in the area east of I-25 near Monument Hill. County officials say crews will work to replace and repair the structure and roads as soon as the water drains.
