New Belgium Brewing Entangled In Craig Coal Mining Fight

· Jun. 9, 2015, 4:59 pm
Angry business owners in Craig are pulling New Belgium and select craft brewing brands from taps and shelves, reports the Craig Daily Press.
The reason? Those beer companies are listed supporters of WildEarth Guardians--an environmental nonprofit working to shut down the Colowyo coal mine outside of town.
Stockmen's Liquor removed 12 beer brands--including New Belgium Brewing and Breckenridge Brewing--after realizing they were listed on a WildEarth Guardian's webpage as supporters. The nonprofit has since removed the page that listed the brands.
New Belgium Brewing responded by saying its support of WildEarth Guardians was limited to grants for river restoration projects.
