former circus lions from Peru and Colombia that were going to live out their days at the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg?

Turns out that's not going to happen.

Wild Animal Sanctuary and Animal Defenders International, a non-profit, have called off the arrangement that was first announced in March.

"As a result of changes in critical circumstances, ADI and TWAS determined that they could not meet each other's needs with respect to this rescue, and ultimately concluded that for the sake of the animals first and the two organizations second, it was better for ADI and TWAS to pursue more conducive alternatives," a joint statement from the two organizations said.

The Keenesburg sanctuary says it will use the space reserved for the circus lions for other rescue animals. Animal Defenders International says it's working to find another home for the lions.
