It looks like fall has finally arrived. Cooler temperatures and mountain snow are in the forecast for Colorado.

Above-average temperatures in recent weeks gave Colorado a lingering summer. Denver International Airport hit 84 degrees on Thursday.

But the weekend should be chilly. Meteorologists are calling for showers and cooler temperatures in most parts of the state. Mountain areas could see up to 3 inches of snow.

Meteorologists say that temperatures at lower elevations should return to the 70s next week.
