The Denver Post reports lottery ticket sales in Colorado topped more than $60 million during the 21-drawing jackpot run, which ended Wednesday. The winning tickets were purchased in California, Tennessee and Florida.

About 36 percent of the $60 million in Powerball ticket sales will fund parks and schools, for a total of more than $21 million.

About one-fourth of all lottery ticket sales go to three Colorado outdoor groups: Great Outdoors Colorado, The Conservation Trust and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

The remaining money funds the state Department of Educations' Building Excellent Schools Today, which offers construction help to underfunded schools.
