Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is open for the season.
The National Park Service says road crews worked for a week to clear the heavy snow for Saturday's opening.
Officials say recent snowstorms hampered their work. Some small icy patches remain on the road, but are expected to clear when the weather warms up.
They warn spring storms could still drop heavy snow, causing temporary closures.
