CDOT signs across Colorado are warning drivers not to play the popular game while behind the wheel.

The Aspen Times reports that about 50 of CDOT's 200 digital message boards across the state on Wednesday told drivers to "Beware the Pokemon." The sign also read "don't game and drive." The message was scheduled to only appear Wednesday.

CDOT spokesman Sam Cole says he chose the ominous warning because of the smartphone game's massive popularity. He says drivers likely are already playing while driving, though he didn't know if the game had caused any accidents in Colorado.

On Monday a driver crashed into a parked police car in Baltimore and later told police he had been playing Pokemon.
