Colorado Springs Police’s Body Camera Program Delayed

· Aug. 8, 2016, 2:15 am

The Colorado Springs Police Department has had to delay the launch of its body camera pilot program due to issues with data storage.

The Gazette reports that the department now plans to begin using the 65 body cameras in late September. The department had planned to begin the program in July.

The program was delayed because of the amount of data required to store and upload video. Department officials are installing routers so the system can work in police vehicles and are working with the utility company and service provider to manage certification issues related to uploads.
