Starting Oct. 7, 2017 listeners can expect a new weekend schedule on Colorado Public Radio News in an effort to provide additional opportunities to hear Colorado-focused news alongside the most listened-to national public radio news programs.
The schedule changes are prompted by NPR’s decision to end production of “Car Talk” after decades on the airwaves. At the same time, Colorado Public Radio is ending weekly broadcasts of “A Prairie Home Companion” to continue to focus on local stories and information.
Both of these programs will be replaced on the schedule with additional broadcasts of core public radio news programs, including “TED Radio Hour,” “Radiolab” and “The Best of Fresh Air.” The new schedule also reflects CPR’s commitment to telling Colorado-focused stories while providing a more consistent news service on the weekends.
