A new analysis by the Washington Post says Colorado could be among six states to gain at least one U.S. House seat in 2022. That's thanks to growth the Post anticipates in the 2020 Census.

If that happens, Colorado would add an eighth seat in Congress.

The Post reports Texas could add three seats, Florida two, and Colorado, Oregon, Arizona and North Carolina would each add one.

The analysis, based on population trends from 2014 and 2017 Census estimates, also projects that nine predominantly Northeastern and Midwestern states will likely lose seats.

Colorado Politics breaks down the Post's analysis -- take a look here.
