BP May Sell San Juan Basin Oil and Gas Assets

· Aug. 23, 2018, 1:16 pm

A letter sent to BP American Production Company employees Tuesday, and leaked to the Durango Herald,  says the oil and gas company is thinking of selling its assets in the San Juan Basin.

The move could cost hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in revenue for communities around La Plata County where BP is a top tax payer and employer.

The Herald reports despite the letter a BP spokesman says, right now, there will be no immediate changes to operations in the area.
