After flirting with running to replace John Hickenlooper as Colorado's Governor, only to be pushed out of the race by Rep. Jared Polis, incumbent Rep. Ed Perlmutter at first wavered, then decided to again seek reelection for his 7th District seat.
Perlmutter, a Democrat, has represented the district since 2007.
His opponent is Republican small business owner Mark Barrington who is running on a self-described platform of "kids, family and future." Barrington has taken a swipe at Perlmutter's indecision at the start of the campaign and sees him as rubber stamp for partisan politics in Washington, D.C.
