I-25 Reopens After Blizzard

Interstate 25 between Colorado Springs and Denver is fully open as of around 3:00, although drivers are still urged to proceed with caution. Some roads, particularly in the eastern and northeastern plains, remain closed.

Colorado Department of Transportation Director Shoshana Lew says it's important for folks to have an awareness as they head out.

"We continue to advise drivers to be extra cautious," said Lew, "to go slowly, to check COTrip, to have a good sense of where the closures remain, and importantly, to watch out for those who are on the roads working to keep us safe."

COTrip is CDOT's online map of current route closures.

Yesterday in Weld County, Colorado State Patrol Corporal Daniel Groves was killed while attending to a vehicle that slid off the roadway.

Meantime in Colorado Springs, the city is working to clear damaged trees, and Colorado Springs Utilities continues to restore power.
