- If you are a listener of 91.5 KRCC, you have likely heard mention of the “Chili Challenge” during our on-air fundraising efforts over the past decade. The “Chili Challenge” became a regular, and very successful fundraising appeal, brainstormed by longtime contributors Dinny and Terri Weber, (who are, coincidentally, Chili’s parents).
- Tickets are on sale now for the 13th Annual Blues Under the Bridge Festival happening on Saturday July 13th. Headlining this year’s festival is Louisiana born Delta-bluesman Tab Benoit, and supporting acts include Nikki Hill, Selwyn Birchwood, Hector Anchondo, and local talent Crystal and the Curious.
- On Friday, April 12, NPR’s David Greene was in Colorado Springs for a 91.5 KRCC member event hosted by Abigail Beckman, 91.5 KRCC’s local host for Morning Edition. NPR Morning Edtion host David Greene is an award-winning journalist, Harvard graduate, and an author who started his career in newspapers.
- On the March edition of Air Check, Jake and Jeff listen to some music with local musician and record producer Adam Hawkins during the musical roundtable discussion. Hawkins owns a recording studio in Colorado Springs called Right Heel Studios where much of the Pikes Peak region’s local talent choose to lay down tracks.
- Award winning music veterans Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt will be sharing the stage at the Pikes Peak Center for an acoustic performance on Monday evening, February 11th at 7:30 p.m.. Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt have a combined 37 albums, multiple grammy awards and nominations, and have been recognized as consumate storytellers and songwriters
- The Americana band Trout Steak Revival will be playing the intimate and ambient Memorial Hall in Manitou Springs on Friday night February 8th at 6 p.m..
