Event Description

Clay Jenkinson Brings History to Life in Pueblo
Presented by the Pueblo County Historical Society & Historic Pueblo, Inc.

Humanities scholar, author, and social commentator Clay Jenkinson comes to Pueblo for two evenings of Chautauqua “living theatre.” Jenkinson blends storytelling, scholarship, and audience participation to create performances that are both educational and deeply engaging.

Thursday, October 23 – 7:00 PM
An Evening with J. Robert Oppenheimer
Step into the life of the “father of the atomic bomb.” Through Jenkinson’s powerful first-person portrayal, Oppenheimer reflects on the Manhattan Project, the Trinity test, and the haunting moral dilemmas of unleashing nuclear war. No physics degree required - just curiosity and a readiness to witness history come alive.

Friday, October 24 – 7:00 PM
An Evening with Theodore Roosevelt
Meet America’s most vigorous president - rancher, Rough Rider, reformer, conservationist, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and visitor to Colorado, including Pueblo. Jenkinson captures Roosevelt’s energy and vision, bringing to life a leader who shaped the modern presidency, championed national parks, and lived with bold enthusiasm.
