CoS History Book Club: Disasters of the Pikes Peak Region

The past is the window to the present. Using the published works of local historians as inspiration, this book club program will highlight specific themes of Colorado Springs and the region.

In April, join PPLD Special Collections photo archivist, Erinn Barnes, in a discussion of her chapter, "Evolution of Fire: Our Changing Views of Fire in the Pikes Peak Region," from our Pikes Peak Regional History Series book, Disasters of the Pikes Peak Region. We will also highlight a selection from our oral history collection documenting the 2012 Waldo Canyon Fire.

A copy of April's book may be checked out from the library (via our catalog) or purchased from PPLD Special Collections (20 N. Cascade Avenue). A recommended chapter and discussion questions will be emailed to all registrants.
