E.S. Curtis and Roland Reed: Historic and Contemporary First Nation Images

The Manitou Springs Heritage Museum is hosting this exhibit of iconic photogravures and images by Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952) and Roland Reed (1864-1934). Accompanying this exhibit: the museum’s collection of contemporary images by Indigenous photographers Amanda Jones, Manuel Pulido, Kenny Frost and Larry Cesspooch depicting the photographers’ tribes, families, friends and local landscapes. The museum’s collections of kachinas, fetishes, pottery and artwork of Indigenous peoples living throughout the West are also on display.
The exhibit opens 5-8 p.m. Friday Aug. 1, and is on display through Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025.
