I Didn’t See You There: Documentary Film Screening + Reception
When
Event Description
This year’s Colorado State University's The Symposium for Inclusive Excellence, Thematic Year, and ACT Human Rights Film Festival partner for a special screening of the award-winning documentary film I DIDN'T SEE YOU THERE. The evening event starts with a reception featuring heavy appetizers from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. The film program will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a panel of experts will respond to accessibility and disability themes shown in the film with a focus on local relevance. Free and open to all. Behavioral Sciences 131 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
About the film: Spurred by the spectacle of a circus tent that goes up outside his Oakland apartment, a disabled filmmaker launches into an unflinching meditation on spectacle, (in)visibility, and the corrosive legacy of the Freak Show.
I DIDN'T SEE YOU THERE will be screened in open captions and ASL interpreters will be present to assist during live spoken programming. Wheelchair seating is available and accessible and all-gender bathrooms are located nearby. For audience members requiring audio descriptions, please email [email protected] for accommodations.
