Event Description

Cottonwood Center for the Arts is pleased to present a collaborative show for the month of November, composed of the works of seven artists of all mediums. Interstate Badlands invited Colorado artists Meghan Wilbar, Aaron Graves, Lupita Carrasco, Audrey Gray, Jasmine Dillavou, and Brian Tryon to create artworks inspired by a collection of 20 pieces of writing from local author Byron Aspaas.

The artists were able to choose as few or as many pieces as they liked to work with, and were free to illustrate the writing, add to a chosen story, or draw inspiration from the subjects and scenery to create their own response to the narrative. Visual artworks range in medium across sculptural assemblage, images made with dirt, clay and sand, painting, photography and mixed media.

This is a tour of a collective conscience created from autonomous experiences with a singular source of inspiration.

We invite you to come experience Interstate Badlands this coming First Friday from 5-8pm, and through the end of November during normal business hours.
