Conductor Deborah Jenkins Teske leads CVAE and the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs in J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor, the composer’s final great achievement.

The Mass in B Minor is the summation and synthesis of Bach’s life and work and one of the greatest achievements in classical music.

“To present this sublime and awe-inspiring work as part of our 30th anniversary season is a privilege,” Teske says. “We are thrilled to welcome the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs as our guests, and to feature members of CVAE as soloists. This partnership is so important to both organizations.”

The performance will feature members of CVAE as soloists for the arias and duets, and in selected passages in the choral movements where Teske has chosen to vary the texture with smaller forces. “The remarkable talent across the membership of CVAE allows us to be flexible and creative in how we choose to bring Bach’s intricate score to life.”
