Lifting the Hood: Denver’s KKK Ledgers

When

Event Description

A century ago, the Klu Klux Klan thrived in Colorado. High-ranking public officials - including the governor, Denver's mayor, and the chief of police - along with tens of thousands of Coloradans from all walks of life pledged their loyalty to the Klan in the 1920s.

Now, as History Colorado makes the Denver KKK's membership ledgers available digitally to the public for the first time, State Historian's Council will explore the Klan in Colorado and the legacies of white supremacism that persist today. Join us for this special roundtable event.

This event is a part of an initiative to share records from the KKK within a context of resilience and resistance to oppression. Information and resources are available at historycolorado.org/kkkledgers
