Masterworks 2 Concert

The NRO is excited to be performing Banner, a work by Jessie Montgomery, one of the most sought-after and brilliant composers of our time. Banner was written in recognition of the 200th anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner in 2014. In addition, Thomas Steigerwald will be joining the NRO again, playing Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2. This concerto is one of the most virtuosic concertos in the repertoire, and Thomas's artistry and technique will be on full display. The concert ends with Dvorak's Symphony No. 8, bringing the concert to an energetic conclusion.
