Event Description

On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, the Pueblo Friends of the Arkansas River will be hosting a Winter Solstice Lantern Parade. The celebration will gather at Pillar’s Park along the Arkansas River Trail from 4:30 - 7:00 pm. A community drumming/gathering will start at 4:45 pm, feel free to bring your instruments. Bike riders will gather at the Main Street bridge parking lot to ride together to Pillar’s Park a little before 5:30 pm, feel free to decorate your bikes with lights! Please be aware that it is a gravel trail, on the levee trail side over the suspension pedestrian bridge. At that time everyone will be gathering with lanterns to start the parade over the suspension pedestrian bridge below 4th Street Bridge heading west towards the murals around 5:30 pm. There will be local food trucks on site to purchase food and drinks. The community is welcome to join this free public event, bring a lantern and celebrate the shortest day of the year!
