Seicento Baroque: Historic Organs Meet 21st Century Tech
When
Event Description
Historically, organs were the most expensive instrument to build, highlighting the wealth and power of institutions and churches. In modern times, professionals and amateurs have embraced VPO technology and created homemade organs. Wesley Leffingwell, historic keyboard specialist, will discuss the instrument's history, share his VPO setup, and play music that showcases the versatility and sonority of a virtual instrument. Selections will include Buxtehude, Frescobaldi, Louis Couperin, Elgar, J.S. Bach, and Dupré.
