The Artists’ Gallery Canon City First Friday
When
Event Description
The diverse works of three artists are featured during the month of October at The Artists’ Gallery, 416 Main Street, in Canon City.
Each month, several artists’ work is celebrated as Featured Artists for a month in a special display near the front of the Gallery. Their artistic works are featured during First Friday celebration, Oct. 3, at the Gallery from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.
Mary Cotner
Mary is a watercolorist who predominantly uses Yupo paper, which is a slick synthetic paper. She enjoys the “serendipity of how paints and water mingle” on this type of paper. Her works include landscapes, animals, and still life. Mary is not only an artist at the Gallery, but also she provides vocals and music on the acoustic guitar at many of the First Friday celebrations…and this Friday as well!
Robin Riddle
Robin is a veteran photographer of Colorado landscape and its wildlife. “The pure beauty of nature untouched by human influence is my motivation.” Also she photographs vacant, deteriorating buildings, which stimulate her imagination with stories that they keep secret. Robin has been a member of the Gallery for many years.
Virginia Ames
Virginia is an acclaimed beading artist from Pueblo West. To quote her, I create “…beaded jewelry that comes from the heart….one bead at a time!” Her intricate beaded jewelry includes necklaces, earrings, and pins. Her works reflect unique, original, and unusual designs. Virginia has been a member of the Gallery for many years.
Come enjoy the Art, Mary Cotner’s music, refreshments, and a fun evening!
The Gallery is open from 10:00am to 6:00 pm seven days a week.
