In honor of Colorado Springs’ sesquicentennial anniversary, the CSPM unveiled a new exhibit, COS@150. This robust exploration of our community’s history and culture features 150 objects, illuminates 150 stories, commemorates 150 years. Throughout the commemoration year, we invite you to explore these stories through a series of regional history lectures.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In 1941, Julie Penrose opened the El Pomar Carriage House Museum, now known as Penrose Heritage Museum. To commemorate this anniversary, Penrose Heritage Museum will open new exhibits in October 2021. This lecture will explore new aspects of the Penrose legacy revealed in these new exhibits as well as the impact of their legacy in our lives today.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Sarah Woods is Curator of Historic Properties & Archives with El Pomar Foundation. Sarah previously worked in the archives at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, NASA and Indiana University, where she earned her Master of Library Science with a specialization in Archives & Records Management in 2018.
